  This course is an introduction to inter- and cross-disciplinary academic research. Students will learn what research is and what it is not, to differentiate among various research types, and will then write a research proposal on a topic approved by the instructor. Since this course is interdisciplinary, students from different disciplines across the campus will be expected to participate. The primary objective of this course is to form a learning community in which all students and the instructor learn, inquire, discover, draw expertise, and get ideas from each other. Emphasis will be placed on effective communication of ideas among all participants.

  This team-taught, interdisciplinary class is designed to guide Honors students in their transition to the University, to sharpen their academic skills, and to introduce them to University faculty members representing various fields of study.   This course offers extended development of American Sign Language (ASL) as well as an introduction to other sign language systems utilized in the United States (Signed English, Total Communications, etc.).
