HIST 3383 - Popular Culture

Prerequisite(s): Six hours of history or consent of chair.

This course will explore the shifts in and significance of popular culture throughout the history of the U.S.  Differing forms of popular culture and what each can reveal about the context of their development will be examined.  Topics ranging from vaudeville, radio, and film to sports, newspapers, comics, magazines, beauty, and advertising will be discussed.
