PHIL 3063 - Faith Seeking Understanding: Medieval Philosophy

This course provides a historical and theoretical introduction to Western philosophy in the Middle Ages (c. 500 - 1500 CE). In addition to Christian thinkers like Augustine, Aquinas, John Duns Scotus and William of Ockham, the course will consider a variety of significant figures from the Islamic and Jewish traditions, including Avicenna, Averroes, and Maimonides.
