COUN 5403 - Introduction to School Counseling

3 (3-0)

This course is designed to prepare school counseling students to become effective leaders in the process of transforming school counseling to meet ASCA’s National Standards.  The roles and functions of elementary, middle, and secondary school counselors are addressed.  Professional and ethical issues that school counselors face are also discussed.  Strategies for advocating on behalf of students to overcome impediments to their success are presented.
