MATH 3004 - Problem Solving and Discrete Mathematics


4 (4-0)

Prerequisite(s): MATH 1433  or MATH 1534  with a grade of C or better; and MATH 2033  with a grade of C or better or concurrent enrollment.

Students will learn and implement a variety of techniques to solve problems in areas such as number theory, geometry, and combinatorics.  Students will also learn the rules of symbolic logic and learn techniques of direct and indirect proofs at an introductory level.  (This course is designed for students planning to teach grades 4-8 mathematics.)
