SOCL 4503 - Health Inequalities

Prerequisite(s): SOCL 1133  and 3 hours advanced Sociology.

An in depth course introducing students to the scholarly literature concerning health inequalities.  Emphasis is on the relation between social, political and economic factors and inequalities in health inputs, accessibility and outcomes, both internationally and nationally.  Topics include racial health inequalities, mortality determinants, poverty and health, healthcare financing, and economic inequality and health.
