Prerequisite(s): Concurrent or prior enrollment in CHEM 1143 and MATH 1233 or higher.
The first in a three-course sequence designed for students majoring in the natural sciences. An introduction to the principles and concepts that describe living systems at the molecular and cellular levels, including scientific methods of inquiry, features distinguishing viruses, prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, membrane structure and transport, metabolic processes and pathways, and macromolecules within an evolutionary framework.
