Special emphasis on cultural definitions of modernity and modernism, the ideologies of the avant-garde, and the ideas and issues surrounding the production, reception, marketing, interpretation, and criticism of painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, installations, performance, video, and other mixed media modes of presentation. International in scope.
