Requirements for a Minor in Economics - 18 semester hours

* ECON 2433 - Microeconomic Principles 3
15 semester hours of advanced Economics courses which must include one of the following:
ECON 3323 - Intermediate Macroeconomics 3
OR
ECON 3333 - Intermediate Microeconomics 3

Prerequisite(s):

MATH 1203 or MATH 1233 (or equivalent) is a prerequisite for ECON 2433
ECON 2333 and ECON 2433 are prerequisites for ECON 3323 and ECON 3333

Note(s):

Students must complete all prerequisite courses before enrolling in any advanced level course.

*If the student pursuing the minor is also pursuing a major in the Dillard College of Business Administration, then ECON 2433 should be replaced by one additional advanced Economics course approved by the Department Chair.

Economics minors should take ECON 2333 - Macroeconomic Principles instead of ECON 1333 - General Economics to fulfill the university core. See Academic Foundations and Core Curriculum - 42 semester hours .

Requirements for Signature Minor in Agribusiness - 15 semester hours

ECON 2333 - Macroeconomic Principles 3
ECON 2433 - Microeconomic Principles 3
Choose nine hours from*:
AGBU 2783 - Introduction to Agribusiness Management 3
AGBU 3723 - Natural Resource Economics 3
AGBU 3923 - Applied Agricultural Marketing 3
AGBU 4423 - Agriculture Policy 3
AGBU 4643 - International Agricultural Trade 3
AGBU 4723 - Agricultural Price Analysis 3
*These elective courses may not be used to satisfy the requirements of the student’s major or other degreee requirements (i.e. no double counting of these courses).

Note(s):

Students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or above in the minor in order to graduate. (See General Requirements for all Bachelor’s Degrees in the Undergraduate Catalog.)
