All clinical courses require the student to integrate theory and laboratory training in the patient care setting. This clinical course focuses on the application of therapies, techniques and procedures used to support the adult and pediatric patient. Topics include hemodynamic and gas exchange monitoring, weaning techniques and non-invasive applications, airway care, comprehensive ventilator management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Alternative care settings such as long-term acute care, sleep and homecare will also be integrated into this clinical experience.
