NURS 3743 - Introduction to Evidence-based Practice

Prerequisite(s): Currently no prerequisites.

(Former Prerequisites: Admission to the RN to BSN program or RN to MSN program; Statistics or Data Analysis course (may be taken concurrently).)


 

Qualitative, quantitative and mixed method research serves to compare and evaluate evidence-based practice and healthcare in clinical practice.  This course will demonstrate appropriate utilization of research findings to monitor patient-centered care, quality improvement, safety, and leadership outcomes.  Critical appraisal skills that assist nurses as competent research consumers will be identified.

(Former Description: Basic concepts, processes, and applications of nursing research are explored. Focus is on analysis and evaluation of research in application to clinical practice.)
