Athletic Training, B.S.A.T.

The requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training (BSAT) degree with a major in Athletic Training are as follows:

Academic Foundations and Core Curriculum - 42 semester hours

Major - 72 semester hours


Other Specific Requirements - 6 semester hours


Required courses in the core curriculum (2 overflow hours counted here):

BIOL 1134 - Anatomy and Physiology I  
BIOL 1234 - Anatomy and Physiology II  

and

4 hours of CHEM/GEOS/PHYS/EXPH

Minor

Note:


Upon completion of this degree the student will be eligible to apply for the licensing exam given by the Texas Athletic Training Licensure Exam administered by the Texas Department of State Health Services.  To be licensed Athletic Trainer outside the state of Texas you must complete a Master’s degree in an athletic training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
