NURS 4803 - Concepts in Caring for the Acutely Ill Client 3 (3-0)
Prerequisite(s): NURS 3853 , 3863 , and 3873 .
This course is a study of concepts across the span of life specific to the care of the individual who is acutely or critically ill and the impact that illness has on the individual’s family. Previously learned concepts addressing health promotion, nutrition, elimination and exchange, activity and rest, perception and cognition, self-perception, role relationships, sexuality, coping and stress tolerance, life principles, safety and protection, comfort, and growth and development are integrated throughout the course using the nursing process to plan and evaluate nursing care of the acutely or critically ill individual.
