GEOS 3824 - Field Methods 4(1-6)
Prerequisite(s): GEOS 3234 or 3434 or 4534 , or the approval of the instructor.
The course is a formal introduction to field identification, geological mapping, cross-section construction, and stratigraphic measurement conducted in the region (north Texas, southern Oklahoma). This course will foster important problem-solving skills. The class introduces students to orienteering and collecting field observations on lithology, stratigraphy, and structural attitudes. Students will analyze data, and prepare geologic maps and cross sections. Students will evaluate and compare settings within the region.
