The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with teacher certification is a studio-intensive program that prepares students to teach art at all levels (K-12) in public and private educational institutions.

Core Curriculum Specifics
Writing Proficiency Requirement
All students seeking a Bachelor’s degree from Midwestern State University must satisfy a writing proficiency requirement once they have 1) completed 6 hours of Communication Core and 2) earned 60 hours. Students may meet this requirement by passing the Writing Proficiency Exam, two Writing Intensive Courses (at least one must be outside of the general education core), or ENGL 2113 . Studio Area - 12 hours
Twelve hours of any one studio area:
Professional Education for Secondary Certification - 21 hours
