The requirements for the degree of Master of Arts with a major in history are as follows:

Thesis Option - 30 semester hours
Thirty (30) semester hours of approved courses including New Option - see below
**CATALOG CHANGE** Effective Fall 2015 Non-Thesis Option - 36 semester hours
Thirty-six (36) semester hours of approved courses including HIST 5713 , HIST 6003 , and HIST 6103 , and a substantial research paper meeting guidelines established by the department and the Graduate School. This option is recommended for students who do not intend to pursue graduate studies beyond the M.A. level. Dual-Listed Courses - 12 hours
A maximum of 12 hours of dual-listed courses may be attempted. |
